Evan Ferguson has long been linked with another loan move away from Brighton this summer, but he could be joined in making a temporary exit from the Premier League side by another Ireland prospect.

Eiran Cashin only joined the Seagulls last January from Derby County in a €12m move.

However, the former Ireland Under-21 man has struggled for game-time, and has made just one substitute appearance in that time - in a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

Cashin had been a regular at Derby before his dream move to the top-flight, playing almost 150 times for the Rams.

According to the Derby Telegraph, a loan move is being considered in order to give Cashin access to first-team action next season.

Cashin is highly-rated at Brighton and, according to the report, is seen as a long-term prospect at the club, where he has signed a contract until 2030.

However, recent transfer dealings appear to have dealt a blow to his chances of featuring regularly in the near-term. Brighton earlier this month confirmed the arrival of Italy international Diego Coppola from Hellas Verona.

Cashin, who qualifies for Ireland through his County Leitrim grandmother, is expected to attract attention from clubs in England and Germany.

He first pulled on the green jersey at Under-18 level in a 2019 defeat to Turkey, while his Under-21 debut came in 2022, in a 3-1 win against Montenegro at Tallaght Stadium.
