Laura Hamilton, the face of A Place in The Sun, has shared how her son's refined taste for international cuisine is costing her a pretty penny at home in the UK, as he's ditching the kids' menu for more sophisticated fare.

The television host and property aficionado admitted that her efforts to encourage her children, Rocco, 11, and Tahlia, 10, to savour foreign dishes during their exotic getaways have led to an unexpected and costly consequence.

According to Laura, her children's adventurous taste buds have evolved to the point where the standard fare of chicken nuggets and chips no longer satisfies them when dining out on home turf.

Rocco, the older of the two, now eschews the budget-friendly children's menu in favour of the adult menu's more elaborate options.

Laura explained: "I was really lucky that my two didn't have any allergies so food-wise I would take some little snacks on the plane and then it was 'right we're eating whatever's in the destination'."

She continued, "We always have the cuisine in the place we're in. So much so it's backfired a little bit now, because if we go to a restaurant, my son will be like, 'no I don't want the kids' menu I'm going full-blown adults' menu'."

Praising her children's culinary curiosity, she added, "They've got a really great palette for stuff. I love my children being experimental with food - they would eat anything, they're not fussy."

In partnership with salad connoisseurs Florette, Laura is promoting their summer 'Tasty Escapes' campaign, offering Brits the opportunity to win an extraordinary holiday.

Alongside a tempting holiday giveaway, individuals are being offered the opportunity to win £100 daily, which can help with shopping costs or those last-minute holiday needs.

Laura shared: "When you're in a hot destination it's very easy sometimes to skip lunch, but to have really nice salads in warm weather is always great."

She continued to express her culinary curiosity by noting: "I've always been inspired by my travels to come back and make lots of different dishes."

This exciting promotion is available until 31st July at leading retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Booths, Iceland, Booker, Home Bargains, and Farmfoods.
