IDAHO FALLS — A Idaho Falls man has been charged with felony enticing a child over the internet after allegedly offering a 15-year-old boy $100 for sex.

Clark Allen Poston, 27, allegedly contacted the teen in June 2017 through Snapchat while working with the boy’s mother at a local clothing store. She told police she thought Poston was a “nice guy,” and he then befriended her son, according to court documents obtained by EastIdahoNews.com.

The victim told police Poston would help him pick out clothes at the store and would occasionally buy things for him. Poston then asked for the victim’s phone number and added the teen on Snapchat. The teen said he accepted the request, according to court documents.

According to police, the victim said Poston would message him asking to hang out and ask the victim to go shopping at the mall. Poston allegedly told the teen if he went shopping with him he would get more gifts.

Poston allegedly asked the victim if he was gay and the teen told said no. Poston told the boy he was gay and asked if he would go on a date, according to court documents. The teen told police he declined Poston’s request. The boy also said Poston would send him nude photos standing in the bathroom in front of a mirror.

“He said that Clark told him he would have to kiss him to get more clothing and on another occasion asked him if he wanted to make out,” according to court documents.

Later, text messages showed Poston allegedly told the teen he would pay him $100 to perform oral sex on him. The teen says he told his sister about Poston, who then encouraged him to cut off contact.

The teen told police there was never any sexual physical contact between him and Poston.

The teens’s mother became aware of the alleged inappropriate communication with Poston when her daughter asked if the creepy guy still worked there when driving past the store. She then then told her mother what her brother had told her. The mother contacted police in November 2017.

In January, Poston admitted to police that he would ask the boy for sexual favors in exchange for items. He also told police he was trying to start a relationship with the boy, according to court documents.

Poston was arrested on Oct. 18 of this year and given a $20,000 bond. He posted that bond on Nov. 7, and was released from custody. Poston is scheduled to appear in court on Friday before Magistrate Judge L. Mark Riddoch. If convicted, Poston could face up to 15 years in prison.
